As reported by the demographic data for the Dallas region, the population within the eight counties of the Dallas Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area (PMSA) is increasingly becoming more diverse. Given the extent of the cultural diversity within our region, it is reasonable and logical for our region to celebrate the richness of our cultural resources. In addition to merely celebrating this diversity, it is also important to incorporate this diversity into the leadership of local and regional cultural arts organizations.
This aspiration presents data and information about three indicators, which are listed in the grey panel on the right side of this page. Specifically, the three indicators within this aspiration report the following:
- Regional arts & cultural festivals: Information as reported by Main Events International (MEI)
- Community festivals & celebrations: Information as reported by various commonly used sources for information on regional celebrations
- Diversity in arts organizations leadership: Information as reported by the City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs
