The Dallas region is also rich in arts and cultural opportunities. With significant numbers of cultural arts organizations and a strong convention and tourism industry, it is increasingly becoming known that the Dallas region also presents ample opportunities for leisure activities and cultural entertainment.
The Dallas area boasts several major cultural events unique to Texas, such as the State Fair of Texas, long boasted as being the biggest in the world; the Sixth Floor Museum, a somber memorial of the Kennedy assasination; the world-class Meyerson Symphony Center; the Dallas Summer Musicals, which bring the latest and greatest of Broadway to the Dallas stage; the American Airlines Center, a popular venue for many concerts, sporting events and conferences; the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars professional sports teams; and many other attractions that draw visitors from around the state as well as from neighboring states each year.
