Religion and spirituality are significant aspects for many of the individuals in a population and can influence the interactions between individuals and the direction of the community. Spiritual beliefs are highly personal and variable at individual and community levels. The outward demonstration of spiritual beliefs, in the form of attendance at religious services and outreach, can serve as indicators of religious activity.
This aspiration presents data and information for two indicators, which are listed in the grey panel on the right side of this page. Specifically, the two indicators within this aspiration report the following:
- Religious service attendance: Religious adherence and attendance by adults in the Dallas Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area (PMSA) as reported by the Association of Religious Data Archives
- Religious outreach: External expression of spiritual convictions for the Dallas PMSA as reported by the 2004 General Social Survey and the 2001 U.S. Congregational Life Survey
